Rapsody and Skyzoo mixtapes releasing in June
We are finally getting down to the wire. The much anticipated mixtapes of Jamla artists, Rapsody and Skyzoo, are debuting in June.
After coming off of 2 back to back critically acclaimed albums (“The Salvation” and “Live from the Tape Deck”, respectively), being selected as a featured performer on BET’s 106 and park “Music Matters” program, and touring the country with Pharoahe Monch, Sean Price, and Black Moon, Skyzoo returns with his brand new mixtape “The Great Debater” which will be released on June 7th. Stay updated with Skyzoo and get pre-released songs from the “The Great Debater” by following him on Twitter @TheRealSkyzoo. If you are familiar with Skyzoo, you are aware of his passion and ability to tell stories with his music. If you are not familiar with his music, this will be your chance to get to know the “Wordsmith” himself. All of the songs that have been leaked from “The Great Debater” have gotten a lot of praise from his loyal fans and other credible artists. This can only give you a sense of what the whole mixtape has to offer. Greatness.
The First Lady of Jamla, also known as Rapsody, will be releasing “Thank H.E.R. Now” on June 21st, 2011. H.E.R. stands for Hip Hop in its Essence is Real, and her mixtape conveys hip hop in its purest form. What can we expect from this project? Nothing less than brilliance. Listen to Rapsody grow as an artist with her personal songs and trademark lyrics. As her second solo project, there will be collaborations with artists such as Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Estelle, 9th Wonder and many more. Escape in our favorite “B Girl’s” soulful, boom bap beats, with lyrics that most people can relate to. “The force is strong with this one.” And of course, Culture Over Everything.
